When we think of a vortex, what comes to mind is a whirlpool or a whirlwind.
No one in his right mind would want to be caught in one, right? But there is one that should be something you should aspire for as a cannabis user.
Information about Vortex:
Vortex is a Sativa dominant strain that promises to throw your mind literally in a vortex of euphoria, but it should also be used with caution as this potent strain could also cause the level of anxiousness to shoot up.
If you are not dealing with any anxiety disorder or depression, then using this strain is like taking a wild ride in space filled with a lot of fun and laughter.
We expect nothing less from cannabis strains bred by TGA Subcool Seeds, one of the most reputable cannabis breeders in the world.
Vortex comes with a pedigree as both its parents are highly acclaimed.
One is the legendary Space Queen bred by BC Growers Association, and the other is the rare Apollo 13 bred by Brothers Grimm.
As such, Vortex itself has received several accolades including the High Times Cannabis Cup Best Sativa 2010.

Effects
Vortex is not among the strains with extremely high THC levels, but it still packs a punch with almost no ceiling in the cerebral high. As its effects kick in, there is a general feeling of elation as your mood changes to that of being happy. After consuming a small quantity, it also gives you a boost in energy level and it might even boost your creative thinking.

But this is such a good tasting strain that makes you want to smoke a little bit more. And with that, each puff continues to work on your head and pretty soon, you might find yourself unable to think clearly and literally find yourself in a vortex as the world around you starts to swirl.
Fragrance
Close your eyes and smell the sweet and sour blend of mango with a hint of citrus or lemon, and let your imagination fly. No doubt you would find the fragrance of Vortex much to your liking.
Flavors
Keep dreaming and once you have a taste of its sweet fruity flavor with a lingering lemony aftertaste, it would feel as if you are in a tropical paradise. It won’t last for long, though, as you are about to be launched into space on a trippy ride.
Adverse Reaction
First of all, Vortex is a cannabis strain and as such, you might expect to experience feeling dry mouth and dry eyes. Both are normal with the use of cannabis and it is recommended that you keep yourself hydrated before and after using cannabis.
With that out of the way, there is one negative reaction that you should be aware of.
Vortex is not recommended for people who have serious anxiety disorder issues. It rushes in a strong cerebral high, but once you start to overuse, its effects become psychedelic. There is a chance that a user might experience a sharp rise in the level of anxiousness, which is something we all want to avoid. The buzzing head high could also lead a user to feel dizzy and in some cases, a mild headache.
Vortex is not a strain that novice or first-time users should try.

Medical
Vortex is mostly used for recreational purposes. For medical cannabis users, this strain provides the benefit of relieving stress and used in a small amount, might also help those with depression and other anxiety issues. Be sure to read the adverse reactions as we do have a concern about overusing this strain and anxiety levels.
It has also been used to help manage chronic pains and aches. Because it could boost one’s energy levels, it acts like a double espresso which helps deal with fatigue.

Growing
How willing are you to throw yourself into a vortex for the next eight weeks if, at the end, you would have in your hands one of the most sought after cannabis strains in the world? When we describe growing this cannabis as being in a vortex, that is because it would not only require that you have experience in growing plants, but also a lot of patience as this is one plant that requires a lot of care.
Vortex, while it has been reported to have been grown successfully outdoor, is better suited for indoor growing using soil or hydroponics. Among the things that you would want to do is to top off early. To improve its yield, it would require a lot of training and it is highly adaptable to the Screen of Green (ScrOG) method.
Flowering Time
Indoors
Grown indoor, Vortex has a flowering time of 7 to 8 weeks and could give you a yield of 4 ounces per square meter. Using hydroponics and ScrOG method, you might be able to increase the yield to 5 ounces or more.
Outdoors
Vortex was created to be grown indoor. Even so, some growers were able to successfully grow it outdoor with a yield of 3 to 5 ounces per plant. If you have a choice of growing indoor, then that would be preferable as you are more likely to have a bigger yield.
